Jack Sh*t Getting Fit has an incredible giveaway going on right now! There are a ton of comments and I don’t envy his decision! He is giving away a C-note of his own hard earned cash to the commenter that can convince him how you would use it to further your weight loss journey!
I went back this morning and read through all those comments. It got me thinking (Oh No Here we go again!) All the wonderful things that his readers would do with a C-note! One idea that I absolutely LOVE and would most certainly support came from Tony at Anti-Jared. Tony offered to match the $100 and the two of them make a network blog for weight loss, similar to Mamavation. I WOULD SUPPORT that. I would even offer to help! So right here, right now, instead of $100, I offer to give my time in helping to get that going! I want to join! I want to participate! Hey guys! Are you listening?
Jack’s giveaway reminded me of an exercise I use to hand on in my classes. It was If you won the lottery, how would you spend the money? How would it change your life? List 10 things you would do. Now, look at what you do in your everyday life. Do the things you do every day SUPPORT what you say you would do if you took money out of the equation?
This exercise is a good reminder of the things we use and say to hold us back. I admit it. I use money AND my weight to stop me from a lot of things. This year I am working on that. I have alot of ideas. TONS really! Sometimes I just can’t get them off the ground. I stop because of the start up funds needed or the mental attitude to get past the old devil statements of my weight.
Take the money out of the equation. What is the one thing you can do today to support yourself in your weight loss journey?
And come back tomorrow… I have an idea I want to share with you and see what we can come up with together!

What a great post. It got me thinking too. I’m actually perfectly satisfied with my weight loss journey as is, no money changes, no action changes. Thinking of it like that made me even more proud of myself. Now, there are plenty of things non-weigtloss related that I would do differently with more mula. First would be to sell my house and move. Move out of town, out of state, out of the country. I don’t care. Any of the three would be fine with me. I’m just feeling stir crazy in my house, in my job, in my city.
I saw the Jack post but I did not read the comments cause I did not want to influence my comment… I think the anti-jared one is great. I love his blog.. so real!
Right now, I am supporting my weight loss journey. My life journey, not so much….
I would support my own life’s journey by practicing focusing on the immediate rather than thinking about the far future.
