What Type of Person are You?

Bo Bennett says “A dream becomes a goal when action is taken toward its achievement.”  We all have dreams. Dreaming and using our imagination is one of the biggest parts of growing up. Often though, our families, teachers, and peers can influence us, even today, and we still leave our dreams in the longing stage.  These opinion’s do have an influence on what we do, even years later.

Turning our dreams into goals takes action.  We need support to achieve our goals, no matter what they are.  We should align ourselves with Type “E” people.  We have all heard about Type “A” and Type “B” personalities.  Type “A” people are often described as “stress junkies”. They are competitive, aggressive, and have trouble relaxing.  Type “B” people are patient, relaxed, easy-going, and lack any sense of urgency.  They are often described as disengaged.  Yes, there can be people who are a mixture of those personalities depending on the area of life they are dealing with.

I came up with the term Type “E” people while trying to describe the type of people I want in my life.  These are the people who enrich, empower, encourage, and enable you to grow.  They guide us to soar to where our imagination and dreams can take us; to achieve what we want in our lives.  They support us to push beyond our fears and our limitations.  They become the wind beneath our wings.

Who are the Type E people in your life?  Who encourages you? Who empowers you?  Are you a Type “E” person yourself?  What can you do to enrich, empower, and encourage others?

When we have Type “E” people in our lives, it becomes easier to take those small, necessary action steps, each and every day.

  1. Wonderful choice – “E” personalty. I agree with Bo. Thank you for the reminder of my “E” peeps. Blessed be them.

  2. LOVED this post. I need some Type E people in my life! Love your blog as well!

  3. I am a balance (I hope…) of Type A and E. Because I am aggressive and competitive (mostly with myself) but I am also someone who also tries to empower people.

    I strive to be a type E.
I married my own personal type E.
I need type E people in my life…we all do :)

  5. LOVE this!! I think we all need cheerleaders in our lives…and we also need to dump the downers in our lives, too. Seriously, we have to take a look at who is bringing us down and decide to set ourselves aside from their attitudes and actions. We totally need to surround ourselves with E people!

I’m very fortunate to be married to an E person and to have a few E’s as close friends as well.

Awesome post! Thanks for dropping by my blog so that I could find yours!!

  6. The kind that gives you an award. :) Come and get it.

  7. Well, one of my type “E” people is my friend who I actually call “E” on my blog. How funny!

Otherwise, always my mom and my dad. I feel so lucky to have parents who believe in me so much and support my goals & dreams.

    Great post!

  8. I love that, type E people! I think we all could do whatever we dreamed if we were always surrounded by E people! My hubby tries! He is a man though so sometimes it does not come out right. :-)

  9. Stephanie says:

Where can I sign up for one of these Type E people? I have a boyfriend who is pretty good but he might fall into the enabler category. Mom too. *blush*

  10. My wonderful boyfriend is definitely my type E person. Even when it comes to my latest obsession (blogging), he’s all about it for me.

My mom, too. She’s my hero. *gushgush*

I don’t know if I’ve been a very good type E for anyone lately. I’ve been more of a B. I think I’ll make a conscious effort to be an E for someone from now on.
