Seeds of Encouragement Needed!

This Elvgren print is titled, “Worth Cultivating!”  Very appropriate for my weekend venture.  THE GARDEN!

As many of you have figured out, I like to come up with ideas.  Ideas that motivate me and keep those harder things in life, FUN!

That childlike wonder that keeps me thinking…The curiosity, the playfulness, the baby steps to changing the whole attitude!

One of the special things I did with my garden last year, was I had a get together with some of my dear friends and while they were here, I had each of them plant a seed.  It is part of what made my garden special.  It had thoughts and well wishes from my friends.  I would like to do the same thing this year.  Build my garden with nurturing, supportive, FUNNY, HILARIOUS, motivating and inspiring thoughts. (Jack, June, Salina, Jody  Missa, and all the rest, you are hereby challenged to make me laugh in the garden!)

Since I will be running and exercising while gardening, I will need a lot of support.  This is my 50 by 50 challenge for myself.   50 lbs by my 50th birthday, my shooting for the MOON!  (MizFit, I never said, but it is in January) (BTW -2.2 lbs at weigh in today)  I want to fill my garden, not only with healthy fruits and vegetables, but also seeds of encouragement, but I need your help!

Hit me up with your comments – What seeds of thought should be planted in my garden!  Send your friends, I need a lot of help on this one.  The only one I have so far is Honeydew these plants make my garden look big? or Hydration Station for the watermelons?  Get creative!   I will share what I do with these next week!

Have an awesome weekend!

What do you call a nosey pepper?

    Jalepeno-business!!

  2. Great idea! And congratulations on the loss this week. I know that makes you very happy. I think 50 pounds by your 50th birthday is a great idea!!

Here is my thoughtful seed for you. Never go back. Once you’ve made a committment to achieve something, never allow yourself to go back to those old habits!!

    Have a great weekend Jules!

  3. OK, I am not that witty so I will be back.. :-) Although I did have a cucumber joke but that might not be appropriate! :-)

  4. Fitarella says:

That is awesome! Ooooh how about some cherry tomatoes, cukes, spinach, and strawberries!!

My thoughtful seed for you my dearest is that no matter what, YOU ARE ENOUGH! You are whole just as you are, and everything else is just icing. xoxoxoxo Mwah!

  5. MizFit says:

hmmmm I am Black Thumb McGee but my seed of encouragement?

All the answers we ever need in life are within us.
my journey has been learning that and making myself STILL enough to hear them.

  6. Kathryn says:

Plant something hot and spicy :)

  7. I like the above – something hot and spicy – & also sweet – sweet peppers – perfect for you. Whatever, be colorfully bold

  8. I think this is just the best idea! 50 by 50 is a great goal! Good for you! I need to lose 50 pounds myself , so I will be looking to you as well for inspiration and motivation! We can help each other. My favorite saying IS “YOU GET WHAT YOU GIVE so , while planting and weeding then eventually picking. remember with the weight loss or garden – actually anything in life- you get what you give.

  9. Gillian says:

Awesome goal! How about Forget-me-nots to always keep your eye on the goal? :)

    Keep us posted!

    Gillian

  10. Yum Yucky says:

My garden dies every time I planted. So I put in rocks. So my inspiration is to tell you to ROCK IT, girl!!

  11. Graybeard says:

It doesn’t matter where you’ve bean, only where you’re going. So lettuce encourage each other! Don’t let anyone squash your dreams!

  12. Julia says:

I started my veggie garden early this year (maybe too early.) I am not sure what will grow but I am excited to watch the progress. (This is very much the way I view my “journey!”)

Here are some quotes to take along with you:

Most plants taste better when they’ve had to suffer a little.
    - Diana Kennedy

An onion can make people cry, but there’s no vegetable that can make them laugh.
    - Anonymous

While you’re making your way through your 50 by 50 challenge, remember where you are going, keep your goals in mind, keep your head up, remember to keep a light heart, and most importantly – remember we are all here with and for you!

    :)

  13. My personal opinion is that you make it into a bacon graveyeard rather than a vegetable garden.

“Bacon Lies Here” or something along those lines.

BTW, You’ll hit your goal. I know you can do it!

  14. Salina Lyn says:

I’ve been thinking and thinking and thinking on this for a couple days now because I wanted to come up with something special for you. Unfortunately…I’m all dried up. Nothing going on up in my brain as far as witty and snappy and clever concern. So, I’ll just say…..

Never forget that the seeds of friendship will always carry you through life challenges if you water them properly.
