This, as always, is very thought provoking. What I began to consider at the end, is why so many people abandon their bodies at increasing levels these days. Of the mind, body, spirit; only one has a kill switch. That is, the mind and spirit are always at work -- they have no choice in the matter. The body? It's the one element of the three that we can consciously abandon and still hope for the best, or just be good with what we get...

A beautiful post, Jules. Right from the heart. Most of us have treated our bodies badly. I guess we all need to find the right balance between the body, mind and soul. Easier said than done, I think. Thanks for the thought provoking words.

Thank you. Lovely writing. I learned this difficult lesson recently about how fragile life is. Your reminder came in a moment of "Why even try?" Back to it, enjoy. Off to yoga on the beach along with the foghorns.

Amazing post Jules! Still trying to take it all in! I think like Karen, I take my soul for granted the most.

I loved the thoughts of your grandma.. beautiful!

My dad, when he was alive, used to always say: "I talk to HER every Wednesday." His version of whatever God is to other people. I still live by his saying... I loved that he made it a woman too! :-)

Wow. Very powerful. Maybe for me, I most take my soul for granted. That is what might need attention and nurturing right now.

I've always taken my body for granted and treated it so poorly. Things have changed and I'm much more aware now, thank goodness!

Happy birthday to your daughter. :)
