It’s TimeLine Tuesday and that means its time for a road trip!
Yesterday, I didn’t post. On ANY of the blogs I write for. I was being present in my life!
Took a break….took a little road trip so to speak.
That’s the one thing I notice about this blogging journey!
The long and winding road of change. I don’t know about you, but sometimes I get bogged down going back and forth between where I am headed, memories of the past that trip me up, and forgetting that change JUST takes time.
I had an awesome, awesome surprise on Sunday night. My favorite cousin, who is more like my sister than my cousin, (Boy the things we have been through) showed up at my door! I haven’t seen her for about 8 or 9 years. She moved back to Michigan then. We use to talk every week. Then those calls got fewer and far between. I still thought about her every day, I just let life get in the way.
I was so wrapped up in my frustration on Sunday. Princess V had an autobiography report due. First, the long drawn out drama of not wanting to start it. Next, was the looking for pictures that would match the story. Then, the printer wouldn’t work. Finally, got that fixed and YEP, you guessed it…it was out of ink. So, I raced down to the office supply store, picked up the ink and returned home. While I was just finishing putting the ink in the printer, I heard my name, turned around and there she was. My FAV..standing in the doorway to the room.
It took a few minutes to register. We just hugged. We would look at each other and then just hug!
I took tomorrow off of work so we can spend the day together. She is only here until Friday.
Yesterday, was filled with some important lessons about my road trip.
….the important relevance about time. Life is just a road trip not a RACE.
When I am so busy and wrapped up in my goals ..whether that is career, weight loss, or relationships……I lose sight of that very important thing….
It ALL takes time…

Oh I so love this post Jules! Awesome. I find myself writing “all in time” in my journal allll the time. My favorite Greek, Heraclitus said Ta Panta Rhei Kai Ouden Menei (everything flows, nothing stands still). Enjoy your wonderful surprise.
It does take time. But conversely, sometimes time passes so quickly that we did not take advantage of it. Enjoy your cousin:)
This is a poignant post. I’ve been told repeatedly that I must have patience with myself, but it wasn’t until recently that I actually knew what it meant. There is power in patience.
So true! It all takes time, yes, but it’s not a race against time… I like the road trip analogy a lot!
How special to see your FAV cuz out of the blue like that, especially after so long. Don’t blog now… spend time with her!
