
Positive affirmations are like building a new road map in your brain. Think about an open meadow. When you drive through it the first time, the grass lays down from your tires and then springs back up. If you continue to drive over the same thing, three times a day, then sooner or later you have made a path or ruts to drive on. That is what positive affirmations do. They pave a new road or new way of thinking of yourself. This is the story I use to tell when I taught my positive affirmation class.
